Ron Paul's just going to come in and be all "I DON'T CARE THAT 100% OF THE LEGISLATIVE BODY DISAGREES, I'M STILL FORCIN' SOME CHANGE"
Hell Obama had a majority to work with at the beginning and still couldn't get changes passed. Ron Paul if elected would become the most ineffectual president of all time.
Beyond his guaranteed ineffectualness, I like the guy and I like his ideas but they're ideals and not really practical. That's why I donate to him but don't plan on voting for him. Spread the word; end war, end the drug war, get corporations out of government... but for the love of god don't give Republicans the White House. |

And yes, I dumped my party and switch to Non-partisan. Vote out ALL incumbents (regardless of party)... that's the only way to send a message to Washington and beat the "Status Quo".
We also need strict term limits for Congress... Not these assholes making a career of fucking us over. |

Yeah don't bother trying to put idealogy behind this thing, it only invalidates you.
If a republican was in the white house this would be happening anyway. And even if Ron Paul was sitting in the White house it would be happening anyway.
Who the president is doesn't even matter in this case. What your looking at here is how purely corporations run the world.
And if you read the article you will see the heavily and I do mean heavily republican backed Chamber of Commerce is involved. Those band of idiots try to weld power like a half government office. Its a collection of businesses and corporation's that influence all commercial aspects of your life here in the US. Shop at your local walmart? Chamber of Commerce helped put it there. They help bigger company's move into new area's.
But aside from that, SOPA sucks, Its not the right way to deal with the issue's its trying to handle. Its like cutting off a leg when the patient needed only routine knee surgery.

Fucking disgusting. RIAA/MPAA is close to determine our own civil liberties. Since when have we allowed this world to go so low to the point corporations now dictate our own rights and make the government act like their own private cops?
This shit has to end soon or I fear we may head at best into Gibson's vision of a cyberpunk world where corporations rule and governments are puppets and at worst to 1984's Orwellian scenario. |
