I care! There isn't a proper post apocalyptic mmo out there worth playing. There's been attempts Neocron was good in it's day but didn't age well, Anarchy Online was always a reskinned Everquest clone and the sci-fi elements always felt tagged on - especially once the Shadowlands expansion came out, after that we're talking Fallen Earth, Global Agenda, Hellgate London etc etc
I would love a truly gritty AAA production post-apocalyptic MMO - hell I live in England. It would be nice if the online world made this place look nice. |

As best as I can tell, there's two likely possibilities:
1) Zenimax gives Interplay a chunk of cash in exchange for the Fallout MMO rights and backs off of their suits regarding how Interplay was selling legacy Fallout titles.
2) Zenimax gives the Caen brothers a larger chunk of cash and simply take Interplay out from under them. |

I could easily remember wrong as it's been at least 6 years. Iirc that's what Interplay originally asked for Fallout license, of course then Bethesda balked. Interplay eventually stripped out the mmog rights and finally settled for 6 million or so. |

Yeah... probably Bethesda paid Interplay off just to get rid of the "Abomination MMO" that they were sub-contracting out.
Heck.. they're swimming in funds from Skyrim, so it was probably a lot easier to just settle. |
