I spent around $30 on the Steam sale in December, but for that I got Mass Effect 2, Fallout: New Vegas, DX:HR, and Torchlight.

Damn! That's a deal!

I spent around $30 on the Steam sale in December, but for that I got Mass Effect 2, Fallout: New Vegas, DX:HR, and Torchlight. And I still have to play through Oblivion and Fallout 3. Uh, and Dragon Age. And I have a brand new mobile workstation to do it all on.

Now, if I could just break my habit of logging in to FFXI every free evening, I'd be all set. /facepalm

FYI, I believe GMG requires repeated online activations. Not an issue if it's a Steamworks game but other games require it.

That is true in general but none of the games I listed require the godawful "GMG Capsule". Batman is a GFWL game and the other 3 are Steamworks games. All you need are the game codes GMG gives you.

Man I love GMG but Capsule is such a piece of shit, they really need to build out a proper client.

Unless the console demo is a horrible representation, I feel $5 is about right.

Note, so nice of id/Bethesda to release a RAGE demo for consoles but not for PC.

Rage is one of those games where no price is worth it. Even if you have zero technical problems the game itself literally offers nothing new or particularly well done. Generic garbage. Consider the lack of a PC demo as a gift for not having to waste your time.

Nice to see a small indie like Bastion up there. They deserve it, this is a finely crafted game in all aspects.

There's no "For Sale" topic, so this thread will have to do. There are 4 notable deals on www.greenmangaming.com that I can see. FEAR 3 is $7.50, LotR WitN is $15, Batman AC $25, and Dead Island is $15. Good deals.

$1 for DNF?

Fine, Broussard; you win. For $1 I will buy Duke Nukem Forever. May god have mercy on my soul.

Uhh... unfortunately Broussard already got his money when Gearbox bought the franchise and the IP from 3DRealms. So, people not buying the game wasn't punishing him at all.

I disagree, and am (not) waiting on a $5 sale too... If I never end up playing it, I'm fine with that... : )

I will admit I was tempted at $15, but it looks so generic and boring to me, and a co-worker has nothing but meh things to say about it heh...

So in 2011, they had the summer sale (big), US Thanksgiving sale (small), and the winter/holiday sale (big)... Wonder if 2012 will bring a march'ish big sale to even things out a bit? : )

Maybe I'll get Rage for $5 during that... And any others I missed this go.

-Alamar

You made the right decision, Rage is a mediocre turd wrapped in pretty packaging. One of the most boring FPS games I've played, there are Quake mods with more inspired gameplay.

I just couldn't do it but it was tempting. I do feel bad for all the folks who bought it at higher prices - enough to land it on the Amazon bestsellers list of 2011.

I bought it for about $30 at launch (with coupons from GMG)... probably overpaid for it, but it was probably worth $20. It's not bad, but it has some ghastly pacing issues and some really questionable level design. Yet, at the same time, it's fairly good stupid fun.

Hopefully we won't have to wait too long to see Anno 2070 at a good sale price.
Unless it gets rid of the tages it can stay right where it is.

Picked up Orcs Must Die! and its related DLC. Pretty fun game. I didn't pull the trigger on any others because I either already owned them or figured I'd wait for the price to drop further. Already got too many games to play and I can wait.
