I rarely agree with or like anything Owen Good writes on Kotaku. The first half of his article is factually correct from what I read. But as soon as he gets into pointing fingers, he is just flat out wrong.
Owen even suggesting that the customer is at fault here is ludicrous and he should be slapped upside the head by Brian Cresente for posting that article.

RollinThundr Apr 17, 2013, 12:25: Eh really tossing stuff like that in there only to get your panties all bunched up. If you really want to call that trolling sure.
Mr. Tact Apr 17, 2013, 12:33: Pretty sure that's the definition of trolling... |

not really surprising to me that territory is defended by territorial posturing.. in this case the pissing match over "PAX"
i say: go ahead and identify yourself however you want.. then go ahead and identify me mocking you for it
life and death? yeh thats another story all-together.. and so laughably removed from the abstracted ego-games on display in society at large, exemplified in this OMG DRAMA!! crap |

I don't blame penny arcade. The PR rep was a douche and got super douchy when the customer tried to get info. Then he started spewing stuff out and mentioned PAX. Thats why penny-arcade got involved, the douche mentioned their name. Then he went on to insulting penny arcade and called it an amateur website.
A PR guy (and customer reps in general), regardless of the provocation, should NEVER lose temper like that especially in email where it's recorded for all to see. And the provocation from the customer was very low in this case. And never insult websites, especially bigger ones. He didn't bother to do any research on who he was interacting with, he just threw stuff out there. And there's rumors he has 'roid rage (someone found his email used on an account in roid forums, posting about how he had done roids before). Anything that increases rage and temper is another bad thing for PR reps. |

| That article is so wrong it hurts. Let's all blame Mike for doing what any halfway decent person would have done in that position. |

This is what happens when gaming goes from being a nerd's hobby to being a dude-bro's hobby.
