Yeah, they must suck since they're one of the highest rated headsets out there. I am so ashamed for owning them since they sound amazing with every game I play. I should return them. I'll take advice from the guy who has posted here 8 times.

He's right, he's just very snooty about it. Most headsets are extremely overpriced and offer very poor performance, the G930 is no different. Most people are happy to pay that price though because of the perception that more money automatically means better or because they fall for marketing buzzwords/features. Surround headsets are a good example and most gamer peripherals are poorly constructed, offer mediocre performance versus actual high end gear. Don't take my word for it either, ask some real audio professionals who rate these things or just crack open your own headset for a minute to see the parts inside.

A good set of cans (check out Audio Technica, Beyer or Sennheiser) and a mic taped to the side are going to be a pretty mind blowing improvement even for a non-audiophile. Of course many people will be happy with a gamer headset and there's nothing wrong with that, you can't miss what you haven't experienced after all.

I looked at Audio Technica's and Sennheisers, I didn't like any of them and had clanmates who swore by their G930's. You, and him, can talk down about them all you want. But the fact of the matter is, it has nothing to do with "buzzwords". The surround works great, especially in games like BF3 and CS, where knowing where shit is coming from is a priority. And they sound amazing. So be a hater all you want.
