Just Cause Film Moves Forward, Third Game Coming

A new writer is now attached to Just Cause: Scorpion Rising, the upcoming film based on the Just Cause open-world action games from Avalanche Studios, reports Hollywood Reporter. This also includes a casual mention on the continuation of the series, saying: "a third game is now in development." Word is Bryan Edward Hill is rewriting the script for the project, and they offer his résumé, which includes NYU film school, work in the world of advertising, and some comic book credits, as he co-wrote Broken Trinity: Pandora’s Box, a Witchblade mini-series for Top Cow and co-created the Image comic 7 Days From Hell, which is also being developed for the screen. They also offer a one-liner for the film: "The movie will focus on the origin of the Scorpion, aka Rico Rodriguez."

I hope they add some method of tracking down government installations (given the setup is fairly similar in the next game). Maybe bribing locals to let you know where they are or something similar.

Or maybe it was just me who sort of hit a wall trying to reach 100%...

If I remember correctly you can, it's just slow and meant for fine tuning your aim, airplanes just can't do fast flat turns and it would be stupid if they allowed them to in the game.

You're right, they were clearly aiming for a high level of realism in the game where you have an unlimited instantly deployable parachute.

He's asking for a change in how planes fundamentally work, that's not what you're talking about, the parachutes in the game act like parachutes, nothing more, regardless of how many you can carry.

What they really need to fix is the plane controls. The helicopter is just fine...but not being able to execute a flat turn in a jet is ludicrous! Why the hell can you do it in a helicopter but not a plane???

You're wrong...there is literally no flat turn in any plane in Just Cause 2. Every turn you do causes the plane to bank. At more than 68 hours playtime, I think I'd have noticed. Feel free to Google it....

I never thought I would say this, but I feel like Hollywood won't make a Just Cause movie absurd enough.

I didn't mind the side missions much...there just needed to be more of them. Enough to make the main story not all that consequential preferably.

I also think that the amount of chaos needed to unlock new mission/story levels needed to increase...this encourages people to spend more time doing what the game is really about: making things go boom!!

The main story is just an excuse to be there. They could change that or not...I wouldn't much care.

I propose the following subtitle for the next game:

Just Cause 3: Blowin' Shit Up.
