Reader Fusman alerted me to what looks like an error I've been making in linking to stories on Battle.net in an effort to avoid the problem I'm causing (oh the delicious irony!!). The site localizes links, and I thought that stripping out the regional part would make them work in all territories. Just to confirm this, I'd appreciate if a couple of readers outside of North America could confirm that this link is broken and this link works (and if it works, do the local parts of the URL ("us" and "en") change appropriately)?

Blue, your “stripped” links don't work because the EU and other battle.net sites are independent from the US site, not just mirrors. They do eventually copy-and-paste repost most articles at a later date but, at the very least, the post ID is different. Both links work fine in Canada - Ontario at any rate.

And Alec Baldwin is totally rock and roll. He's a fantasticly facile actor who handles drama and comedy with equal aplomb. I love watching him co-host on TCM. The man really knows his craft and its history. And he plays such a good heavy, Miami Blues, Malice, The Jury, Mercury Rising, and of course his ultimate role in Glengarry Glen Ross. And yeah, he's banged some of the hottest women around for sport. Nice work if you can get it. Personally, I love the guy.

I'm in the UK and it behaves as you said Blue. The first link produces the site's 404 page and the second link leads to the patch notes with /en/ in the URL.
