Hard Reset: Extended Edition Announced

Kalypso Media announces they will publish the Hard Reset: Extended Edition, an expanded edition of Flying Wild Hog's cyberpunk shooter, saying this will come to North American retailers in March 2012. Word is: "Hard Reset: Extended Edition for Windows PC will drop players into a dark dystopian cyberpunk world where they’ll enjoy frantic FPS styled gameplay combined with upgradable weapons, insane boss fights, physics-based combat and an intense new storyline." Here's a feature list:

  • A fast-paced, “old school” styled FPSExperience-based weapons upgrade system
  • Five new levels (adding approximate two hours of gameplay to the original game)
  • Four new enemies, one new boss character
  • Updated graphics engine
  • Additional gameplay elements
  • New back-story
  • Two new levels for survival mode

In the only remaining human city of Bezoar, Major Fletcher, an Army Combat Veteran, is dragged into a conflict between two of mankind's greatest enemies. He is to discover that nothing is what it seems to be. Hard Reset: Extended Edition is an action-packed, single-player shooter for Windows PC. With over-the-top destruction, loads of enemies, incredible weapon variety and a beautifully realized cyberpunk setting, Hard Reset: Extended Edition takes classic FPS gaming and cranks it up to all new levels.

Actually no, he wasn't. I can't be sure, but think he was making a Beavis and Butthead reference.

I'll buy it at full price if I have to (just to support a very promising indie studio), but I'm thinking they would be better served by giving current owners a discount.

They better announce that it will be free to existing owners ASAP otherwise they are going to lose sales when the Steam Christmas sale starts next Monday.

I'm hoping this is a free upgrade to current owners...it better be!

Or at the least be extremely cheap for current owners...

I'm also curious about how this will be served to current owners. I might pay $5-10 for it, but that's only 'cause I bought Hard Reset for cheap.

Awesome, the game is already great. I will definitely give it another play through with the new content. It'd be great if it was free extras, although $2.50-$5 would be fair enough.

And will the extras be added free for existing owners? Was probably going to get this during the Holiday Sale (depending on price), but not if I'll have to pay for the new content later.

Kind of stupid to announce this four months ahead of time. Way to cannibalize your current Hard Reset sales, dummies!
