The THQ executives have been trying a bunch of new stuff the last couple of years but almost none of it has worked out. If they want to have a pray of saving themselves, especially when costs go up more in the next console generation, I think Farrell, Bilson et al. need to be replaced. They're clearly not up to maintaining consistent growth.
i thought it was funny how they announced red faction would no long be developed because the last retarded game in the series wasn't as huge a seller as the others. just.. the phrasing of the press release. "after consistent profits, this IP has finally somewhat disappointed our astronomical expectations and thus we will naturally be shelving it forever."

It has 111 reviews on amazon, 4 star average.

They probably sold 1 million and were expecting some crazy 20 million. Things like that they need to set realistic expectations.

Plus it only works with like 5 games:

And they delayed releases of many of those games 6 months or longer in europe.

They sold a ton on the Wii. It was the release on the 360 and PS3 that no one heard of and no one bought, hence these layoffs.

Well it sounds like they need to lay off the Marketing department. Oh wait there isn't any because no ones heard of this product? Probably more advertising was given to this uDraw here on Blue's from them laying off 30 people than the rest of the year combined.

Yeah, it's Mario Paint for the Wii, without the Mario.
Why would THQ lay people off for this, it looks like it's doing well given relatively nobody has heard of it.

I actually recognize that picture of the Wii peripheral, maybe I saw it in a store somewhere or something. Never heard of the 360/PS3 version though, and I had no idea what it was called.

it's interesting that I never heard of any of these...things that these companies make, and then suddenly go under.

They'd have been better off making software for existing tablets, not trying to peddle their own cheap knock-off specifically to play their little games.
