Duke Nukem Forever DLC Next Week

Gearboxity has the announcement of The Doctor Who Cloned Me, new DLC coming to Duke Nukem Forever on Tuesday, imbuing the first-person shooter sequel with a new single-player campaign, multiplayer maps, and more (thanks Gamer's Hell). The Duke Nukem Forever: The Doctor Who Cloned Me Page has some screenshots and details, and here's the announcement:

A brand new downloadable add-on is coming to Duke Nukem Forever next Tuesday, December 13, delivering a new single-player campaign, new multiplayer maps and more!

Titled The Doctor Who Cloned Me, the new campaign pits Duke against Dr. Proton deep in the heart of Area 51. Alongside new enemies and bosses, the add-on packs new weapons and new interactive objects across the new environments, plus new achievements and trophies.

Four new multiplayer maps are also included, which can be played across all of the multiplayer modes including those of the Hail to the Icons Parody Pack:

  • Sky-High: The alien-infested corporate offices of Pooty, Inc. near the center of Las Vegas. This map includes three indoor floors taken over by the aliens and two rooftops, jump pads, stairwells, and building-to-building combat.
  • Command: EDF command center with an imprisoned BattleLord at its core! A two-level map featuring winding stairs, straightaway corridors, and jump pads
  • Drop Zone: Rooftop of Duke’s Lady Killer Casino featuring indoor and outdoor combat and stairwells for platforming, an EDF dropship on landing pad, and a bottomless pit.
  • Biohazard: Fight in the Breston Plant Nuclear Power facilities and compete across multiple floors in locker rooms, restrooms with showers, control rooms, and the nuclear waste storage room.

Releasing Tuesday, December 13, Duke Nukem Forever: The Doctor Who Cloned Me will be available on PC and PlayStation 3 for $9.99, and Xbox 360 for 800 Microsoft Points. For more details, check out the official site!

They should've just release the game that was in the 2001 E3 Trailer, that video got me so stoked for another entry in the series.

Instead, we had to wait a decade for this steaming pile.

From what I understand, the stuff shown in that video was made specifically for that video. It wasn't actually a game at that point.

You guys are too harsh. The game was entertaining. I think some people have forgotten what the original Duke 3D was actually like. Many of you are probably too young to have even played it.
Speak for yourself.

I loved that game, played it many times with friends. Back in the day you had to use things like Kali because games only supported IPX network connections.

And yet playing the DNF demo made me very sad. I disliked almost everything about it. Sure I paid $6 for it on the steam sale, but I still haven't played it yet, even though they patched out the 2 weapon limit. At some point I will, but I seriously doubt it can touch the original.

As a long date DN3D fan, I bought DNF in Steam due some kind of morbid curiosity. Yes, it is that bad as people say. No, I won't spend a dimme buying this "DLC".

AMAZING!

I can def say I played the original, and loved it because it was fun, and the build editor took years away from my life before unreal 1 came out.

Maybe if it gets to $1. I picked it up on the $6 sale. I'm not going to pay more than I paid for the base game!
Zero <insert currency> would be a fair price for fans. To play this crap some one has to pay me.

Is that C3P0 vs the evil turd monster?

Can't be - even in 1977 they could make arms slightly rounded.

Duke Nukem Forever was fun for a while, but it is no longer on my hard drive. And charging ten bucks for DLC to a less than mediocre game? Who the fuck are they kidding?

Horrible game, almost as bad as Daikatana.

Daikatana was so bad I never even finished the first episode.

DNF wasn't great, but I completed the game and didn't hate it.

Daikatana's first episode was the worst, it actually got (mildly) better after that. (After the final final final patch)
I actually liked the music quite a bit too.

Damnit, guess I'm going to have to pick DNF up when it's super cheap just to compare now...

Oh come on - it was kinda stupid fun for the few hours it took to complete it. Unfortunately as it took them more than one year to produce every hour of game I'd have to guess this DLC has a playtime of ~15mins so I won't be buying it.
