People on this forum and most other forums are never hesitant to call human beings stupid when they work for developers and corporations, but the idea of most PC gaming consumers being stupid seems like an evil and alien concept. I don't get that, honestly. PC gaming is not plug and play, it requires some semblance of effort and intelligence which are two things a lot of consumers lack. The idea of most PC gaming issues being user error is not a generalization, it's common sense.
Umm ok? I'm not sure what that has to do with this. That's a generalist community rant not directed at anyone in particular and doesn't seem to have much to do with the thread either. People were talking about a specific issue related to performance that is potentially addressed in the patchnotes by reference. Being a whizkid with a computer doesn't mean that other users don't experience technical problems unrelated to issues they have or have not created.
People make dumb statements when they are upset and technical problems upset them. It's impossible to know the portion who are doing this vs legit technical problems but if you want to generalize about it then whatever, its just silly speculation. I think it's just as likely to be user error as not, if you think its all the users then fair enough but these patches exist for a reason and "forums" can contain people just as capable with computers as you are, if not more so. If you think you can captain america the internet into silence with a guilt trip then I'm sorry but I've given you way too much credit in previous discussions.
and given how I have never had crashing issues with any game. If you take the already small percentage of people suffering from major performance and crash issues
Rarely!= never, we all experience crashes unrelated to user initiated actions, it's just a matter of frequency. I don't agree that people experiencing crashes are a small percentage either, I think it's better classified by an acceptable number of them or not. If you want to say users that tinker with their systems or don't understand them experience them more often then I'd agree with that statement.
Maybe users should be more understanding about the problems the industry faces and maybe you should be a bit more understanding that users don't have to cause an issue to experience one.
