The Bethesda Blog has word on the version 1.3 update for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim that's now available on Steam. They also announce they will be rolling out a patch next week for the Windows PC edition of the RPG sequel to support Large Address Aware configurations. Here's word on what the new patch does:
- General stability improvements
- Optimize performance for Core 2 Duo CPUs (PC)
- Fixed Radiant Story incorrectly filling certain roles
- Fixed magic resistances not calculating properly
- Fixed issue with placing books on bookshelves inside player purchased homes
- Fixed dragon animation issues with saving and loading
- Fixed Y-look input to scale correctly with framerate

People can definitely mod or tweak their game in CTD territory. Also when some people complain the game crashes constantly, but others never have a problem with any Bethesda game, there is certainly the possibility that user error, badly kept PCs or whatever else could be the cause.
Acting like user error can never be the cause for PC gaming issues is silly. It's very pro-consumer and all that, but not really rational. |
