The Bethesda Blog has word on the version 1.3 update for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim that's now available on Steam. They also announce they will be rolling out a patch next week for the Windows PC edition of the RPG sequel to support Large Address Aware configurations. Here's word on what the new patch does:
- General stability improvements
- Optimize performance for Core 2 Duo CPUs (PC)
- Fixed Radiant Story incorrectly filling certain roles
- Fixed magic resistances not calculating properly
- Fixed issue with placing books on bookshelves inside player purchased homes
- Fixed dragon animation issues with saving and loading
- Fixed Y-look input to scale correctly with framerate

You're getting FPS dropping into the teens with only 1024x768 reso? Something is severely broken there cause all the performance reviews for the game I've seen show people running the game on Ultra with reso as high as 1920x1200 with the 6870 not dropping below 20 FPS.
I'm not doubting your claim whatsoever, but something is definitely not working as it should in your rig. |
