The Bethesda Blog has word on the version 1.3 update for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim that's now available on Steam. They also announce they will be rolling out a patch next week for the Windows PC edition of the RPG sequel to support Large Address Aware configurations. Here's word on what the new patch does:
- General stability improvements
- Optimize performance for Core 2 Duo CPUs (PC)
- Fixed Radiant Story incorrectly filling certain roles
- Fixed magic resistances not calculating properly
- Fixed issue with placing books on bookshelves inside player purchased homes
- Fixed dragon animation issues with saving and loading
- Fixed Y-look input to scale correctly with framerate

I have a Quad 2 Core (Stock at 2.5Ghz) and a Radeon HD 6870, everything is at ultra and my resolution is (dont balk) 1024 * 768 (Yay for CRT monitors)
The game runs like absolute ass for the first 5 minutes of gameplay time, after that it smoothes out quite a bit.
Strangely I have no problems in Markath, but Whiterun and some other places give me frame rate drops into the teens, which is unacceptable.
The game is still playablable but its starting to get annoying.
Ive said it before and Ill probably say it again, Gamebyro/Creation engine MUST DIE.
