I want this game to make an impact on consoles, and for console gamers to see that an FPS can be played at a slower, more intense pace where every decision made has an impact on the outcome of each round and inevitably the victory of the match. CS 5 v 5 gameplay represents one of the most competitive multiplayer modes out there, and can be played at a high level. Matchmaking based on skill is a big feature ofr CSGO, and amazingly absent from BF/COD franchises where it's easy to join against a stacked team time and time again.
But in the end, it was public servers that created some sense of community and +16 players on a map kept things interesting even while in dead spec. And that may be the biggest obstacle for brainwashed instant spawners to overcome: die early in a 'regular' mode CSGO match and you may have to wait for +2mins until the next round can start, especially with so many newbs not understanding map layouts and mission objectives.
Again, I want this to make a positive impact and change the trend of console FPSers for the better, but I wonder if it's too late. |
