| RAGE and Brink both had incredible promise but failed to deliver, with serious design flaws and engines marred by technical issues. I was very disappointed by both. The idTech4 engine was never great but the additions that Splash Damage added made it feel really awkward and unresponsive and the SMART system was poorly implemented and had virtually no effect on the gameplay. I'm sure they've got a cosy deal with id Software but it's about time they designed a game on a decent engine. |

| I haven't even bothered to check out the DLC yet. Got it for free during their 2 week deal or whatever it was when it was first released, but they're now actually trying to charge $10 for it? The game itself is $20 and I think that may be overpriced, especially if no one is playing it. |

| Rage was a bigger disappointment to me this year but only because I spent more money on it. Brink had so much wasted potential, it was an extremely frustrating experience. |

It is nice to see they are still supporting the game with updates/patches even though it wasn't strongly received <seriously>. I can't say the same for Crytek with Crysis 2, which is still loaded with all sorts of bugs, especially in SP.
While on the subject, I wonder how id is doing with the patch for their 'Epic-Fail-At-Lauch-PCGame-RAGE'!?!?

I sincerely hope they launch it as paid DLC, so that we can be absolutely certain that they're just trolling, and don't actually believe they can resurrect the double-turdburger they tried to feed us all.
At least then we can remember Splash Damage as having a sense of humor about their shortcomings before they get shut down, rather than as a bunch of disillusioned twats. |
