Dude I watched TR again not two weeks ago and it holds up very well. The exterior shots on mars look great. Fuck a bunch of CGI.

And Michael Ironside never gets old. Nor do three-breasted women.

Total Recall, while a great '80's action flick, in truth doesn't hold up all that well. I still enjoy it when I watch it every couple of years but I could stand to see a good remake of it. As always with remakes, proper casting would be the key.

Like so many things from the 80's, Total Recall was definitely a product of its time. It's hilarious how some films from the 50's and 60's hold up better than many things from the 70's and 80's.
Lots of the 50s and 60s didn't interest me. Just too old. I do agree that older are usually better. It's always like that. 80s were the bombs for me. I am an old whippersnapper.

agreed, and i went to look it up to condemn whoever was at the helm as unable to stack up to paul verhoeven, but it's len wiseman (the two first underworlds and die hard 4). i like his style of camera manipulation and preference for wirework and conventional stunts whenever possible over cgi. i think he's a good candidate if it HAS to be redone.

MW3 can end up with a negative user rating, but if it sells trillions of units like MW2 did then there will be a MW4. And so on, and so on...
