I use FF with typically 3-7 tabs open. Leave it open/on overnight and watch the memory double by morning.
FF has always had a memory leak across ALL versions. Closing tabs does reduce some of the mem leaks but it ALWAYS keeps rising.
Very inefficient browser. |

Fair enough, but realize that Firefox memory usage is dependent on a lot of stuff, including how much ram you have, and my ff right now, uses 400mb - thats 10% of my entire RAM for display of static web-pages.. something is seriously broken with firefox memory management as well, because if i close all tabs, it doesn't go down 
So when i start now battlelog, Firefox uses 400mb ram, 400mb not used for BF3
Also i am on firefox 8 ^^ |

Portal 2 would let you play multiplayer with the pirate version by running console commands, and not using steam at all. I was seeing weird behavior from some people who I randomly joined, such as their pointer not working. A quick google later and turns out that's one of the symptoms of using the pirate version.
If it works with the pirate version, presumably it would work with the legit version (I never tried it with my purchased copy)
Anyway, yes, origin is less tied than steam in general to valve games, since it's mostly a launcher and they use an entirely separate web browser based server thing.

Like Krovven said you can import your Origin friends, other than that it is useful for the overlay. The Battlelog chat panels don't pop up in the game and you need to alt tab to see (or even know about) them. If I use the Origin friends list chat at least the person I'm trying to get a hold of will get a notification and can hit Shift+F1 to use an overlay heavily influenced by Steam's.
But other than that I see no beneficial reason for Origin, and one could argue that Battlelog should have the overlay not Origin anyway. |

What we NEED is the freaking patch for BF 3. So DICE/EA/Origin???? Get your sh*t wired and start releasing some performance updates!!!! |

I think the whole reason that gaming websites feel free to report this is because it isn't piracy. You still can't play online without buying the game. Just removing DRM on something you own is mainstream.
I'm sure the same group did crack and distribute the single player portion as well, but that's not really what the story is about. |

The Origin friends list doesn't do anything for BF3. Wouldn't matter if you have 100 friends there, you still have to add them to Battlelog in order to see where they're playing, invite them to your game, group up, voice chat, etc. That's where Origin fails big time compared to Steam; it's not an API used by games for a standardized friends list, achievements, stat tracking, and all that good stuff, it's just DRM and a store.
They're trying to strong-arm an audience into using a service before the service is there. That's not how it works. When Steam launched as a requirement for Counter-Strike 1.6, they already had all of the friends list and server browsing and whatnot implemented and [mostly] working. They didn't make you go use another service that did all of that and just called on Steam to launch the game. |

| I have a friend that works at GameStop his console version of BF3 stopped working day two. I 've been wondering if he was mistakenly banned? Have you tried contacting Dice and/or EA? |
