World of Tanks Patch Plans

Wargaming.net announces plans for an upcoming version 7.0 update for World of Tanks, their free-to-play armored combat third-person shooter. This will include new features, a couple of new maps, and more, including a new skinning system for stealth and customization, as outlined here:

Along with unveiling two new maps, Fjords and Swamp, Update 7.0 will feature the long-anticipated camouflage system that will fit tank skins to the battlefields they fight on. Available in different options, camouflage will provide enhanced invisibility and add more to the strategic element of tank combat.

Clan members will be able to represent their membership by using clan emblems on their vehicles. In addition, battles within the Clan Wars will feature the fog of war, where the teams will not see each other's rosters

The new Update will also include a special model SU-85 (I) available within special World of Tanks events.

The main reason I quit is that a losing battle only gets you about 50 or so experience (I forget the terms). But you needed like 30,000 to advance. Yeah, you should get more if you win, but when the loss is practically nothing for your time, the grind was too much.

Is this still an team-vs-team deathmatch FPS in a tank? I played quite a bit a few months ago, but got bored of the sameness of the maps. They really need some new game types, not maps.

Attack/Defend, historic(Tier/tank limited) battles, and Escort mode(only a few tanks are able to capture the point and must be escorted to the capture) are coming.

I would like to see CTF with scout tanks.

Just another pay to win game, but it can be very fun at the lower tiers.

That is very true. Once you hit around tier four you will find yourself regularly matched with tanks you cannot damage. Then the game is just a frustrating grind to the next tank.

I really enjoyed the game for a time. It was the first game of that type I actually spent money on. Eventually the crazy randomness of how each game was generated wore me down and I uninstalled before I got sucked in further.

Add a server browser and I would be back in a minute.
