Who buys DVD's these days & games from BB? What are you going to do with all those DVD's? I have around 40+ at home in a cabinet & I keep telling myself someday I'll rip them to a NAS box and sell them...lol!

Well let's see, somebody old enough to have experienced hard drive failures and doesn't feel like storing then backing up terabytes of movies?

And considering a BRD movie can get up to 50GB, what kind of fucking psycho would want to rip that? I think I'll stick with the little blue box on the shelf.
Fair enough..Storage is cheap =)

Seriously. Who the fuck shops at BB any more?

I haven't been there recently, but I've gotten good deals on some stuff there. The last thing I bought was a $200 TV/entertainment system table on clearance for $79. A couple of years ago bought the monitor I'm still using there. It was cheaper to buy it there and pay tax than to buy it online, plus I could return it if it had dead pixels, which it didn't.

They do have a recycling drop off which I've taken old computers and stuff to.

same here, ive been on their email list waiting for one. but BB can suck me, that is not a deal. no one is going to buy a laptop for a touchpad.

i guess we all would have to wait a little longer to get a $99 touchpad. anyone still checking the HP blog that is supposed to give updates on when and where they will sell touchpads? i shouldve bought one when they went down to 99 bucks at amazon.

They sent an email saying they are out and if you weren't contacted, you aren't getting one. Came out a few days ago.

Best Buy is the best B&M store for purchasing movies. They drop their listed price faster than any other store and offer new sale prices every week. Of my hundreds of DVDs (and a handful of BRD), roughly 95% came from Best Buy. And if I want a brand-new game I'm willing to pay full price for (rare as that is) I'll get it from them because... they aren't gamestop.

Your avatar suites you perfectly PHJF..lol. Who buys DVD's these days & games from BB? What are you going to do with all those DVD's? I have around 40+ at home in a cabinet & I keep telling myself someday I'll rip them to a NAS box and sell them...lol!

Ah Best Buy. Your daily struggles against the inevitable (you going out of business) are quite exhilarating.

If I remember they sold everything cheaply to get people in to buy big ticket items like gas ranges and stoves. On one hand I don't know exactly where I'd buy one of those. On the other I know it wouldn't be BB and I know I won't be buying many in my lifetime.

Last time I bought something at BB I had just moved to a new city and had no cable, no internet, no friends in the city and all my stuff was still in transit. I bought a DVD set to occupy some time. A year before that I bought a bottom of the line laptop for work to test our game on because we didn't have anything with integrated graphics handy and we wanted to see out of morbid curiousity. The last time I purchased other than desperation? 2005 maybe?

Yea i bought the 79 dollar one, then realized I should have just gotten the fire - oh well. It is my first ereader device, and I really like it.....

I already have an e-ink kindle that I use every day to read on. The fire I ordered because of price and I'd like to get into Android programming (seeing as the fire will be rooted within a week of release I assume), and also just because I hate anything apple and refuse to buy an ipad, ever.

I ordered a kindle fire the day it was announced. Hoping it's a good browser and pdf reader, otherwise I'll be disappointed.

Man, that deal is crap! You have to buy a full computer & then BB will let you buy a touchpad for 150.00. Oh and you cant return the computer either. I've been holding out for one of these 99.99 touch pads for awhile...no luck. =(

I kind of hate my touchpad. Only thing I like about it is that the battery lasts a few days so I can leave it near the couch and pick it up when I see something on TV I'd like to investigate further online.

My netbook will last about 2 hours, or will go into sleep mode and take about 2-3 minutes to refind the wifi and connect to the internet. Typically I've already lost interest in whatever I was going to do by the time it's established a connection.

But if the netbook form factor had the tablet power options I'd love it. Navigating the web on the netbook is slow but easy. Navigating it on the touchpad is faster in some cases (and bugged in others) and absolutely infuriating.
