Meh, I'm still going to buy this game, most likely.
In comparison, Assassin's Creed series has some amazing animations, and that game is still boring as hell on consoles, and DRMed out the ass on PCs.(so I have no idea what it's like on PC. :D)
It makes me realize why I enjoyed Fallout 3/NV so much compared to Oblivion... exploding headshots. FO melee is about as bad as Oblivion.
In conclusion, Bethesda needs to add their exploding body part engine from the Fallout 3/NV games to Skyrim. Better animations are beyond their team.

To me, animations are in a category apart from graphics.
@jerykk: I'd rather they re-prioritize a bit. Practically all animations could be completed by one (better skilled) person during the dev cycle. |

Thanks Eldaron Imotholin, I'll definably rewatch the E3 Demo.
Beamer, personally I think it's more the fact that Mainstream Media believes there is no console piracy. Since m$, other publisher and drm companies feed them info only about PC piracy to protect console and use it as a profit motive. It's a much larger scale on console they can download it before it's release and can literally just rent it and copy it.
Thanks for the link Creston. |

No, Beamer. What SOME people are saying is that they value graphics over gameplay. There's like three people complaining about the animations in a thread with 70+ posts. How does this translate to EVERYONE?
Creston Where's the emoticon for banging my head against the desk?
How about you find an emoticon that makes you stop shoving everyone in the same pigeonhole all the time?
Edit : Not really even sure why people complain about the animations so much. Is it Prince of Persia? No.
But they look pretty good to me.

With 360 games you need to actually open and solder your device without ruining it. Not true. You can flash the drive. |

Yeah, still don't get why this is news to people. Games leak for the 360 all the time. But they do not reach a very wide audience, particularly relative to their sales.
With PC games you just need to download a game and you're good to go. Most often you get everything you would have if you purchased. With 360 games you need to actually open and solder your device without ruining it. You're then totally cut off from all online features, from downloading DLC to achievements to online play. Not just in that game but in all games.
360 piracy exists but it is extremely minimal relative to PC piracy, so it isn't a huge concern to developers that are busy counting their money. PC piracy exists but is enormous and for any given game you most likely have more copies downloaded then sold. This leads to developers thinking about what could have been. |

I know, isn't that weird? I guess different people have different expectations for their game experience. Animations and graphics are pretty much at the bottom of my list for an Elder Scrolls game. |

I did found another set of videos and watched again. I'm surprised they didn't show map something they KNOW the community wanted changed. But I guess they have shown the whole Inventory system is changed, hopefully the map will be functional as well as *pretty*. The E3 demo video has map footage. It's a literal birdview; ingame graphics. You can fast-travel which consists of literally zooming in on the location, if I remeber correctly. It's pretty cool! |

That's the point I alluded to, although you may be talking about me. In one thread we'll have people complaining about how there's too much emphasis on graphics instead of good gameplay, and the same people come into this thread and complain that this massive open world with a ton to do has too stiff animations. |
