I grew up playing Parsec (Ti99A circa 1982ish), text adventures, Atari and Amiga games leading on to PC gaming.

I have a 137 IQ, was never even suspected of suffering any of the ADD conditions (although when I was a kid people were less hysterical about kids fidgeting in class), was a cross country runner and rugby league player. I hold a steady job which pays well, am married with a kid. I've travelled the world and still play games (MMO's, RTS, FPS, RPG, flight sims etc) to this day.

Obviously the 10's of thousands of hours I logged playing games has harmed me irreparably.

ps. Although in hindsight, with some of the absolute bullshit that is being pumped out lately as games, she might only be talking about the latest generation.

Yes, Baroness, our brains exist in the physical world and are subject to causality like everything else. What a revelation!

If you want to grow consumers, the last thing you want is them having any kind of learning ability ;p

Paternalism at its finest.

You know, childhood as we know it is an invention of the 20th century, closely tied with the rise of marketing campaigns and the like. Oh, but the Baroness knows better right? Mind your P's and Q's sonny!

In truth virtually every sensory input you experience alters your brain to varying degrees according to a really good Nat'l Geo documentary I recently watched on Netflix. So yeah, dumb title.

This is hands down one of the stupidest titles I have ever seen for a report.

Everything a child encounters can alter their brains. Videogames, television, a balloon, ice cubes, shoes.. lol As your brain adapts to learn and understand anything (especially as a child), it is being altered. SHOCKING!

"If you play computer games to the exclusion of other things this will create a new environment that will have new effects ... every hour you spend in front of a screen is an hour not spent climbing a tree or giving someone a hug."

Yes, children should have daily 1 hour long hugging sessions, and learn how to climb trees, as tree climbing is a very valuable survival skill in our modern society.

This isn't even a study guys, it's just another crazy person spouting off.

I certainly hope so. It's all about improving.

Once you stop improving, you start going senile. Look at all those old folks who don't play video games.
