He can still go fuck himself gently with a chainsaw.
I still have the cries of unborn single player games in my ears when Garriott and others said, that MMOs are TEH FUTURE and traditional gaming IS DEAD. And look, we have 2011 and MMOs are still only a fraction of the entire games market, the single player game is far from extinct and ... *yawn*

Yes, he can go fuck himself.

Single-player gaming is being killed off pretty quickly. Credit most any developer's fetish for co-op for that.

I'm pretty sure that, about as little as three or four years ago, most comments were lamenting the death of co-op, and frequently people would say stuff like "It's got co-op? INSTABUY!"

It's all cyclical. Three years from now, co-op will have gone the way of the dodo again, and mp deathmatch will be all the rage again, and then it'll shift again to focus solely on awesome SP, and it'll shift again, and again, and again.

I may be mistaken, but I'm pretty sure Trip was referring to casual gaming, not hardcore/enthusiast...

I don't think any of us that have ever worked for him care what he was talking about. He can still go fuck himself gently with a chainsaw.
