Duke Nukem Forever DLC Next Week

Gearboxity announces the first DLC for Duke Nukem Forever is coming next week:

The Hail to the Icons Parody Pack and its four new multiplayer maps for Duke Nukem Forever will be available beginning Tuesday, October 11.

As promised, everyone who joined the First Access Club before Duke Nukem Forever launched in their territory will get it free*! For those that aren't in First Access Club, the pack will run 800 Microsoft Points on Xbox 360 and $9.99 on PlayStation Network and Steam in the US.

In addition, updates to the PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of Duke Nukem Forever will roll out the same day, adding support for the new content along with various optimizations and bug fixes.

Until then, check out the Hail to the Icons mini-site for the latest on the new maps, modes and weapons at www.dukenukemforever.com/hailtotheicons

Daikatana wasn't just panned for bugs. It had some terrible, inconsistent level and enemy design, for one. Who thought it would be a good idea to fight small, annoying enemies like frogs and dragonflies? Your teammates' AI was atrocious as well.

The hate towards DNF is a bit overdone. No, the game isn't a classic but if you enjoyed HL2, you should derive some enjoyment from DNF as they share a lot of game mechanics and level design philosophies. Granted, DNF doesn't execute them as well as HL2 but it did most of them competently enough. The two weapon limit and health regen were stupid design choices but at least the weapon limit was expanded with patch.
