A beautiful quote from Jobs:
‎"Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of others' opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary." |

The guy had a huge influence on me as a kid. I started programming on an Apple 2, and today I couldn't dream of switching out my iPhone. Love or hate his products, you can't deny the impact he had on the world, and how many lives his passion for technology touched. |

Has John Carmack finally been run over by the genre he helped create? AMD screwed up their drivers big time, but with their "fixed" ones it's perfectly playable, just has some quirks. NVIDIA cards work FAR better, with a much higher framerate and no graphical glitches I've seen. I've not seen any bugs that actually have to do with the gameplay, but there is that thing with their "auto-scale textures" system not working. |

Creston 12. The next episode was 8. Not uncommon, and not a cause for concern yet. It's still being considered a success. |

Creston Funny I was just telling a coworker at lunch that my money is on Pan Am being cancelled next. I've heard it's terrible (no personal experience), but I have no idea on how many viewers.
Basically I just expected both these period piece Mad Men ripoffs to fail. Halfway there. |

Enjoying Dark Souls so far - I only got to play it for an hour or two last night, but died many times.
Felt like I needed a place to blab about DkS, so I'm just gonna go ahead and drop it here for now |

I hope it gets better as it goes, though the episode synopsis for future ones on thetvdb don't give me much hope. Second episode was worse. It introduced a new love triangle, which is bad. The third episode will bring in a teenage love triangle and an amnesia virus. The show is dead.
A big part of the problem is that it's a family show. We're given a family of stereotypical characters to follow, all of whom are bland and easily understood. And it gives us 5 main characters that are clearly supposed to be protagonists, leaving no intrigue about motivations. And, with so much of the cast being children, everyone is safe. This show won't bring serious harm to any children.
It airs at 8 pm on Mondays. The target audience isn't adults, it's children and families with children. This is Seaquest. |

Ditto, and I have to say I wasn't sure what to expect of Terra Nova but so far I like it. But I see the head military guy ending up a bit like Locke, but more like Ben Linus from Lost.
As for the raptor part, yeah I was also thinking dino's and was hoping for a picture. |

Chase Carey said there had been discussions about the possibility of setting up a Simpsons cable channel in the US, devoted to showing repeats of the show. You know...I'd watch that. First, I have to say... I find The Simpsons to be over-rated. It was great back-in-the-day but it just can't hold my attention anymore. Granted, it could be because after 20+ I've had my fill.
Ehh, 488 episodes is an impressive feat but in the grand scheme of things...
If they run it 24 hours per day and cycle through completely without any repeats during the day/week that's only 10 days of non-stop content.
Granted, a lot of channels repeat their schedule in the late evening and all of that, so maybe they could squeeze it out for 20 days. And then every Saturday night they can air the recent Film.
But once the novelty has worn off, the channel would be dropped pretty quickly. |
