Activision announces they are now accepting submissions for their second annual independent games competition, "an award program designed to foster innovation" which is open to "all independent developers with headquarters in the United States." This runs between now and the end of this year, offering $250,000 USD in prizes to the top two entries, with the grand prize winner to walk away with $175,000, while also retaining ownership of their project. "This competition underscores Activisionís commitment to fostering creativity in the independent development community," Dave Stohl, Executive Vice President of Studios, Activision, said. "Many of us began our careers as indies, so we are very proud to offer this kind of support and encouragement to a couple of the industryís young visionaries." Official rules are to be posted on the website of the competition, though contrary to the announcement, this is not actually live yet.
