Notch on Release Version of Minecraft & Scrolls Battle

We missed this at the time, but a post on Thursday on The Word of Notch offers the legal documents (in Swedish) for the upcoming court battle with Bethesda over using the Scrolls name. He also talks a bit about the upcoming full version of Minecraft:

Me and Jens have only two more major features we want to implement before the release in November. The plan it to stop all new development on October 18, and resume them again after the release on November 18. That will give us one month to focus on just fixing bugs, cleaning up the code, and optimizing the performance to make sure the release will be as good as possible.

Celebrating the full version with the fan is going to be an amazing experience. I am a bit nervous about it, to be honest. Iím not sure how many people are going, and Iím terrified of public speaking. I can handle one-on-one discussions or handshakes, and I can even deal with giving autographs, but when it gets too big, I just start freaking out.

Carl and Lydia have been doing an amazing job organizing it all, with plenty of help from Vu and Meeting Expectations. To keep up with the latest news there, follow Carl and Lydia on twitter, and read the Mojang blog.

Yeah agreed, it comes down to you ether like it or don't.

I was concerned when he added in the hunger level to the game. But it really helps make food crafting enjoyable, and meaningful.

I'm sure whatever comes next will be a fine addition. Also you can just spoil it for yourself and watch the Yogscast video's on youtube to see all new features, as they find them.

Yeah... you might hold some hope for what is added for the official release, but if you haven't been able to get into Minecraft by now, you probably have no soul never will. Assuming you've played it; you just can't judge this book by its cover.

I wonder what will make this a "game" and not just legos with monsters. I haven't seen much progress on that front.

Well there is an adventure mode in the works. He just added a spell making table or something. Their is now experience points, so on. Have you only played in peaceful or creative mode or something? It is a game really about just survival from a monstapocolypes.
