Battlefield 3 Beta Graphics Analysis

A post on PC Games Hardware takes a look at the graphics in the Battlefield 3 beta, offering a bunch of screenshots to show off visual ups and downs of the new installment in the military shooter sequel. They offer high praise for the game's appearance, and also note their quibbles, saying that if these few things are fixed, the game will take the crown for best graphics from their pick for the previous winner, Crysis and Crysis 2. They have another article with more on this which includes 75 maxed-out screenshots. There's also a beta performance preview on VR-Zone.com with their own set of high-resolution screenshots and a video clip showing off the game's ultra settings. They also offer their Guide To Building A Gaming Rig For Battlefield 3 and answer the burning question of Can an Intel dual core laptop with AMD discrete GPU run BF3?

Apparently it's a reward for buying MoH for the Xbox.

I can think of a few things that would be a better "reward" for buying that... On the Xbox, no less...

Oh, wait, my 48 hour exclusive is for the xbox version? Ug, this isn't a series I'd want to play on the xbox.

Apparently it's a reward for buying MoH for the Xbox. The multiplayer in that was terrible. The single player wasn't much better, but the multiplayer...

I did not preorder and got into the beta today.
Doubtful that I'll have time. Never liked any of the BF games, and quite honestly what little time I have is being spent in Gears 3's horde mode, though it's near impossible to get on a team of competent people...

I haven't played the bf3 beta, but from the screenshots, I still think Crysis 1 holds the crown for best graphics on all platforms. It's a lot more detailed.

Their report is already lost on me because they seam to have considered Crysis 2's graphics on par with Crysis.

No the more buring question is can a i7 laptop with nVidia discrete GPU run BF3.

Crysis still looks top notch to me. C2 was a corridor shooter with buildings for walls =\

this is a really pointless article. Its the beta test: Dice has repeatedly said that it is not representative of what to expect. This is more a server and back-end test to make sure a Gears Of War 2 type fail train does not leave the station. That being said - I have a day to get back to wasting.

As an aside, for those who pre-ordered, the beta is now unlocked (check your email for the code).
