Half-Life 2 Buggy in Steam Renegade Ops

The SEGA Blog has word that Gordon Freeman's buggy from Half-Life 2 will be included in the upcoming Steam release of Renegade Ops. This trailer offers a look at the buggy in action, including the ability to use antlions as a special weapon. "Working with Steam and the Half-Life team makes this game extra special," said John Clark Director of PC Digital. "Gordon Freeman is a deeply-established character in the gaming world and we are proud to have him included in Renegade Ops." The steam edition of the Avalanche Studios' top-down driving action game is due on October 14th.

Already pre-ordered the Steam-version even though I technically decided to stop doing pre-orders on general principle

There's a Quicklook of it on Giantbomb: http://www.giantbomb.com/quick-look-renegade-ops/17-4885/

Seems like a real blast (from the arcade past, hurr). Can't wait to play it. I considered the console version for a while (for TV & couch co-op), but landed on Steam in the end.. Might grab the console version later if the need should arise. Based on GB's QL, the game looked a bit choppy on console with multiple players and explosions, so the PC version should definitely be the way to go with this. Unless it turns out to suffer from a bit of From Dust.

Definitely picking this up then. Hopefully they'll use my money to make JC3.

Creston, more enthusiasm, please. This is actually H-L2:E3!

Oh, shit!

Yay!

Better?

Edit: Before anyone starts whining, I'm not blasting the game, it actually looks like a ton of fun. Isn't this by the guys who made Just Cause 2? If so I'll buy it just because of that. JC2 is one of my go-to happy games, and they deserve some extra cash for making it.

Silly Sega, that's not the buggy...that's the jalopy.

Or the muscle car.

Either way, yeah, not the Buggy. Though I do prefer the muscle car.

Gimmick success. This made me look at a game I otherwise paid no attention to, and now I want it 'cause it looks like a blast.

I've tried the demo on the 360 last night and it is a lot of fun. Gotta grab a points card and I'll buy the game. Not sure why it is not out on the PC yet. It looks really nice even on the console, I am sure graphics will look even better on the PC.

Consoles? I owned two: a Pong clone and an Atari 2600. And that's it.

Derp! for a second I misread this that HL2 was "buggy" in Steam.

Likewise. The headline didn't make sense to me, I felt like Lisa Simpson looking at the Yahoo Serious Film Festival marquee.

Now that I know Renegade Ops is a game, I have to admit it looks pretty entertaining.
