BF3 Beta Early Access Answers

The Battlefield Blog offers a new Jay-Z "99 Problems" Gameplay Teaser Trailer offering an incongruous (and arguably NSFW) soundtrack to a bit of gameplay footage from the upcoming military shooter sequel. They also have a post answering Battlefield 3 open beta early access questions. Here's the important part:

Q: What are the regular dates for the Open Beta?
A: September 29th-October 10th, 2011.

Q: Who is eligible for early access to the Battlefield 3 Open Beta on September 27th?
A: Customers who have pre-ordered the PC digital download version of Battlefield 3: Limited Edition on Origin, or registered their first-hand copy of Medal of Honor: Limited Edition/Tier 1 Edition, or purchased Medal of Honor Limited Edition from Steam prior to July 26th, 2011.

Nothing here. Then again I am in Canada and the Origin site specifically states the early beta access is for US customers only, so I won't be surprised if I don't get any early beta e-mails.

They really finally got hit detection perfect in a Battlefield game.

This whole thing reeks of smoke and mirrors. I'm extrememly tired of this kind of marketing. Some might say what other type of marketing is there? I'd say the honest, open, upfront type... where they tell you all this shit before they hold out their hand for your hard earned money. They don't have to tell you the specific dates but at least tell you it's only two days of early access... only two freaking days of early access? Not even a damn week or five days? WTF? I also bought the limit edition of BFBC2 and they never were clear what or when the access would be except that it was beta access. Seems it will be two days also. Since we are only three days away from the early access date of those pre-orders. edit: Let us at least hope they allow pre-loads other wise the entire thing is utter bullshit for those with slower download speeds. I'm not one but I'd prefer to pre-load so that I can play the day of without having to wait hours or days because their servers are hammered.

Early Beta access is for US PC Download customers only." U.S PC Download Customers only? I REALLY hope as a Canadian d/ler, I get Early Access. It is why I pre ordered afterall.
