RailWorks Signs Amtrak Agreement

Railsimulator.com announces a licence agreement to bring officially-licensed Amtrak content to their railroading simulators, including RailWorks3: Train Simulator 2012, which is due for release tomorrow, a rare opportunity for Amtrak to stay on schedule. Amtrak , joins licensees BNSF, Union Pacific, Canadian National, Norfolk Southern, and more. "The partnership with Amtrak adds passenger service to our already robust coverage of North American railroads," said Paul Jackson CEO of Railsimulator.com. "As Amtrak celebrates its 40th anniversary, record numbers of people are rediscovering train travel, and our simulator makes it simple to get started in the hobby." Also, the Train Simulator 2012 Official Trailer is now online, showing off the game (thanks Rhialto).

Hey, where are they selling this? Can't seem to find it anywhere, even on their own website. Doesn't bode well for a game launching in a day.

EDIT: NM didn't realize it was for Railworks 2. Only place I can it online is Steam though, all other sites only seem to carry the addons and not the actual game itself.

That was a good trailer, thanks. I'd actually be interested in getting this. Whilst I was never really into model trains, but had your basic set like a lot of kids did, I always loved the thought of being a locomotive engineer. Other kids wanted to be firemen, cops, astronauts, etc. I wanted to drive the trains or captain ships, maybe a cowboy riding the range. Anything where I was free and on the move to points elsewhere. As a wiser man than I once said, 'Movin' is the closest thing to bein' free.'

The DLC will be free by making all Steam users pay an Amtrak tax.
