Dead Space 3 Sighting?

IGN has a video clip from an Israeli news show featuring a tour of EA's Redwood Shores offices that seems to reveal a logo and concept art for Dead Space 3. The idea that the survival/horror shooter series is a trilogy surfaced more than two years ago, but a third installment in the series hasn't been officially announced. IGN reached out to Electronic Arts for comment, and were told: "We don't have any news about the Dead Space franchise at this time."

I agree zoom, but what I meant is that they could have made a real SS3 with all the RPG light elements rather than making an average shooter from the ground up.

All that work for an inferior "new" IP when the exact same company owns System Shock.
Well i'm glad they didnt name it System Shock actually. Even if the first one is almost a carbon copy of SS2, it's vastly simplified on many aspects. Makes it a different game, more of a tunnel shooter and less of a "high tension FPRPG". Enjoyed it for what it is (enjoyable shooter), if it was named System Shock it would have been really disappointing.

James Woods: Oh that's fun. That sounds like you had a fun time. Where would I fit in with the fun time, huh? Where does James Woods fit into the fun?

Funny, I recently began a campaign to play and finish both of the games since they'd been sitting on my list for a long time. Finished Dead Space, and while it's good the controls are so damn irritating I'll never play it again. I'm about 1/3 of the way through Dead Space 2, and I'm enjoying it a great deal more thanks to the control fixes and game play tweaks. I'll definitely be playing through DS2 at least once more.

The two things that irritated me with Dead Space 2 so far: DRM bull; log-ins, contacting server failures, etc is all incredibly annoying until it's set up. The other glaring issue wasn't with the game directly: I got the game free though Origin, and attempting to change resolution in the settings with the Origin overlay running will result in a blank screen every time. That one had me throwing a fit until my google-fu finally kicked in.

I should maybe go ahead and play the first one.

Oh, and it turns out I have the second one too. Heh. Yeah, I really should get around to playing those.

I hate to say it, because of the bullshit DRM attached to many versions of these games, but the games themselves are awesome. Dead Space 2 is one of my favorite games, all time.

Dead Space 1 on the PC has enough annoying control issues that I am not repeatedly playing it like I am with the sequel, but it was good when it came out.

Trilogy? They'll continue making games in this franchise until they suck balls and stop selling at all.

And how is that different from other game franchises?

Mad I bought the first one. Tight FOV makes me ill and there is no way to change it.

I enjoy both games, and look forward to more.
