Nick Baynes, the former director of Black Rock Studio,
tweets that the Disney-owned studio is now officially closed, saying: "@blackrockster officially closes it's doors today. Thoughts go out to all facing their last day. A bright future awaits all though I'm sure!" The developer of racing games such as
Split/Second and
Pure suffered layoffs
back in May, and
in July Disney announced plans to close the studio.
In between some of the former Black Rock staff formed a new Brighton, England-based "micro-developer" called
ShortRound Games, which has not yet revealed its first project. Thanks
