Give us a hint Blue, what's it say!
The people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same way in any country.

I found this a bit amusing:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=whtNHRYJnrU

Especially as, if I recall, there's a note in her computer that the mirror is ready to be picked up.

It's mildly amusing that they put this back story in to explain why there are no mirrors. Especially since it's 2011 and this is a beautiful game. We've had mirrors in FPS games since 1995!

Pretty sure you can use your apartment to drop things and they will be there later when you need them.

However, I havent progressed very far in the game, so maybe you can't return there after you've moved on from that area? Can someone confirm?

Yeah, but hitting escape requires you to move your entire hand away from esdf. It would be nice if there was a way to do this quickly and easily without rearranging your hand or moving the mouse to a small box. If I'm reading a newspaper every key should close it.

I'm going to file this under First World Problems.

Seriously, dude, come on. Be glad the damn escape key WORKS. It doesn't in 99.9999% of other PC games ports.

I don't have the game but I did play the "demo." In the "demo" the batteries did not recharge, only the first battery recharged. I thought this was a bug? Is that how it works in the retail game as well?

Yep. To the point that I never refill the second battery unless I need to do a double take down immediately followed by a single takedown.

Yup.
My inventory is full of crap I will never use. Aside from the guns I've never fired I have pain pills, syringes of something, canisters of something, etc. I don't see myself ever using any health items, and the energy items are used very rarely. I think I've only used the bars when I find one, so that I am always at 5.

Overall I think there's a bit of a balancing failure there.

Speaking of the interface, it's one thing that is clearly suffering from some consolitis. Moving items about in the inventory shouldn't be so sluggish. Also, the buttons for 'back', 'hack' etc seem to be slow to respond. Or only become active after a second or two. As though they weren't meant to be used by a mouse or something.

I hate that I need to click "close" all the time, although sometimes a keystroke will take you to the close button so you can hit space, but it doesn't seem to work on everything. I hate that you need to watch an animation every time you hit "hack," it may only be 4 seconds but it adds up despite serving no purpose. When I click "examine" in inventory I'll usually click anywhere to get out of the examine screen, but it then selects the item where I click rather than staying on whatever I was examining, although it's what I was looking at that I want to use. And I hate that some things have a "close" button built into them and some have "close" as part of the UI. It's inconsistent.

Just hit Escape. Problem solved.

I finished the game earlier tonight. Great stuff.

By the way, sort of a spoiler, but I'll ask anyway : did anyone else chuckle a bit when, later in the game, they found Adam Jensen's bio on one of the computers that said he had an associates degree from the University of Phoenix?

He's got the diplomas in his office too. He has one from Ferris which is a university in Big Rapids, Michigan that is usually considered a party school. So either the joke is that Jensen went to an online college and a party school or that Phoenix and Ferris have become prestigious in the future. Or third option he's just a normal dude going to normal schools.

I don't think the joke is on University of Phoenix, just that he was a police officer. It isn't uncommon for police officers to get online degrees, as advanced degrees are often just hoops they need to jump through - where they get the degree doesn't matter, just having it does. It grants a pay raise and access to better jobs. As a result they take the path of least resistance - and why not when it's just a check in a box?

Circumstances like that are the only ones in which something as ridiculously bad as University of Phoenix make sense.

Yeah, but moments like that make me wonder if this is one of the many reasons why Prichard thinks Jensen is such a dummy.

I've yet to have a crash or lockup, and I saw several in the beta.
