No GFWL for Batman: Arkham City?

It seems Batman: Arkham City will not use Games for Windows LIVE, after all, as GreenManGaming tweets: "We've just received notice from Warner's that Batman is Games for Windows but NOT a Games for Windows 'Live' title!" The box art for the stealth/action sequel was revealed in June showing the GFWL logo, suggesting the game would use Microsoft's service, like Batman: Arkham Asylum did. Thanks Eurogamer.

And just today my Bulletstorm won't update on GFWL, tells me I'm not connected to the internet. Yes I'm posting here from the quasinet. But go and look, common. I mean what do I have to do. I jump in my router open the proper ports, no matter, open all ports, no matter. I mean I can log into GFWL but it tells me no soup for me on updating the game. So I can't net up with a buddy. Testing a hard to find patch outside the normal means, perhaps I'll get lucky that way.

Crossing my fingers! That would make the difference between a pc or console purchase.

This is a console game for me regardless. Just like RTS and FPS games are best played on a PC, games like this are best played on a console, IMO.
What?

If you use a 360 controller on PC, the game plays exactly the same. However you'll also get 60fps, higher resolutions, a lower price, and all the other usual stuff.

Batman: AA was a perfect example of the PC doing a console game better than consoles. Plug your Xbox 360 controller into your computer and you have the same game, but with way better graphics. Even more so if you have a modern GeForce card and can crank up the PhysX. I'm looking forward to Arkham City offering a similar experience.

This game controls as well as any other FPS or 3rd person game with a mouse and keyboard. I completely respect and agree that racing games, fighting games, and many platform games are best played with a controller, but no way I'm ever playing a fpp or 3pp without a mouse.

GreenManGaming also lists Batman AA as not being able to be traded in, giving reason to believe it will be tied to some sort of client. Batman AA's publisher, Warner bros., used steamworks for it's last two PC releases (Bastion and FEAR 3) soooo.....

I like those odds. They typically list steam games as non-tradeable.

It played great on the 360, but I would expect it to look better on the PC.

The first one had time trial scoreboards. You could do certain events in the game and earn so many points in so much time. It was then posted to competitive leaderboards.

They should start listing this on retail PC games as a feature.

*Spectacular Graphics!
*Exciting Combat!
*No GFWL implementation!
