The one that illustrated the PC's potential as a gaming powerhouse (the Amiga excepted) was the 3Dfx version of the original Tomb Raider. After you saw that, you couldn't go back to playing it on the PS1. Ever since, enterprising PC developers have been able to get bleeding-edge visuals that have humiliated the consoles (although there was that short period of time from 2000-2002 when the PS2 and Xbox were at least competitive from a performance standpoint). |

I do love the fact that the pc version runs so well. It's not going to win any awards for "best grafx evar!", but it's serviceable and (I think) looks pretty good.
