| Homm3 was fun and everything since has been horrifying. I'd rather the series went on hiatus than become fatally tarnished by an endless stream of garbage. |

I have no idea what Ubisoft is trying to do. It's like they're actively trying to sabotage their PC division. They have draconian DRM, they delay PC releases (to their console counterparts), they refuse to give demos (even though they have them on console). I just...sincerely don't understand, both from a business standpoint or a gaming standpoint. Too many game companies take their customers for granted. These companies believe they can limit / restrict their software anyway they like and consumers will still come running.
Too many games to play to deal with this kind of company. Assuming they offer a free trial or a 3 day pass via onlive ill prob try it but I don't see this game worth $50 with always on drm. |

Yeah they've got some strange ideas about DRM. The game doesn't absolutely require that you be online to play single-player. But it will try to cripple the single-player experience if you're not online, by locking you out of your best skills and weapons.
Who thought that that would be a good compromise? I know they're hoping to inflict an inferior version on pirates, but the scheme makes absolutely certain that whatever they do to pirates they also do to paying customers who aren't online. |

Too bad the company is ubi. With the DRM this is going to be a $10 purchase, like settlers 7 was for me (and that thing annoys me with DRM, any momentary loss of connection and it stops me from playing). I'm a bit more charitable... but yeah. It's still probably a $15-20 game for me. Haven't really gotten into a HoMM game since III, so I couldn't see myself dropping top coin for the latest shiny in the series. |

| I canceled my preorder when the beta only went to steam and ubisoft.com preorders. Curious that this 2nd beta will be offered to everyone who preordered and the release is pushed back... its as if only offering the beta to places that make you pay upfront didn't work out as well as hoped. |
