Take-Two's Q1 Losses; New GTA Next Year?

Forbes has the financial report from Take-Two Interactive for the publisher's just-ended fiscal Q1 2012, which shows a net loss of $8.7 million USD (11 cents per share) compared with earnings of $26.3 million USD (30 cents per share) for the same period last year. The article attributes the downturn to "weak sales of 'Duke Nukem Forever' and higher marketing and other expenses," even though it later quotes Chairman and CEO Strauss Zelnick saying the first-person shooter was profitable (though he did express disappointment in the game's reviews). Despite the losses, the company is still projecting a profitable fiscal 2012, and $2.00 per share earnings in fiscal 2013 (which begins in April 2012), prompting speculation that this is when the next installment in the Grand Theft Auto series is expected.

Sometimes they take a while porting GTA games to PC, so I'm still hopeful RDR will come to PC.

If I recall Red Dead Redemption has sold 11 million copies so far, developing on the PC where only to sell a fraction of that and be pirated to hell and back is no a brainer

DNF gave em weak sales, well they should of made a proper game then instead of that shit..

Just because I'm tired of reading this ignorance, for the last fucking time. THEY DIDN'T MAKE THE FUCKING GAME.

They picked up what was finished, put as much of a coat of polish on it as they could and pushed it out the door so the 12 year long turd could actually be played. And so they could move on and use the Duke name.
For fucks sake. Why is that so difficult for some people to grasp.

I doubt a Red Dead Redemption PC port is in the works. It's been over a year since it's out and pretty sure R* is focusing on the LA Noire port now.

I wonder how long it's going to be before Rockstar finally says to Take-Two "Look, we're the only thing keeping you afloat. We're calling the shots now."

Then again, maybe they already do.

Still waiting for a Red Dead Redemption PC port, and if they threw in some sorta multiplayer DLC, I'd buy LA Noire as well.

Now that consoles are on the way out, why don't they get smart and do a proper PC port to launch on day one as well.

Because that would make sense.

James Woods: Oh that's fun. That sounds like you had a fun time. Where would I fit in with the fun time, huh? Where does James Woods fit into the fun?

To go from -11 cents to two dollars per share is quite a jump. I would guess the next Bioshock, out next year, is also apart of that.

Cmon GTA!
