I watched Mr. Carmack's keynote. Good stuff and it went fast at work. Too bad he didn't show anything. I never knew he was a good technical speaker. Hehe!

Yeah, QII was pretty awesome. I booted it up last year, applied some graphical updates and played through some of it again. It was great as a coop game. But QIII was an awesome multiplayer game. I would say that was id's pinnacle. Doom 3 didn't do much for me, and I played the Quake 4 demo, and lost interest. id hasn't done anything decent in a decade. BF, COD, and TF2/HL have pretty much been the trend setters.

Egggzactly.

I don't know how much cash Witcher 2 pulled in as a PC exclusive, but I bet it's a drop in the bucket compared to what id's publishers expect.

That and the unspoken point that consoles bring in the monies.

Carmack's comment was that even though a PC is 10 times as powerful it is a struggle to get the game running as well on a pc as on a console. The abstraction layers on a PC costs that much processing power.

Then they might get you back with Rage; it seems that good to me.

Certainly I enjoyed Q1 and Q2 far more than everything else they've produced...
