The Thing 2011 will be released October 2011 and was done by the same director that remade Dawn of the Dead.
Wrong.
If you scroll down, you will see that that is not what I typed, it is a response(by someone else) to my first post in this thread. Incorrect Quoting, arrgh!

*EDIT 2* Holy shit, after watching that trailer, it DOES appear to be a remake. Let the cursing and hair pulling begin.
Wrong again. It is a prequel.
EDIT: Even if it had been a remake, it could still have been good. Carpenter's "The Thing" itself was a remake (or reboot) of "The Thing from Another World" (1951).
I keep hearing and reading it is a prequel, but look at that trailer. It appears to be almost shot for shot a remake/reboot... of course teasers/trailers are often misleading, I guess we will see.
Also in my first post, I acknowledged Carpenter's thing was a remake. I know there is some hypocrisy in any outcry over a remake/reboot/prequel of a remake, but Carpenter's 'The Thing" was badass enough to trump the usual laws of the universe.
Wasn't this thread about Rambo or something?
