Sirens are literally absurd due to unintended combinations of game, skill and item mechanics, it feels like cheating to be honest.

The loot tables needed to be balanced better though. Diablo 2 had this manic loot table progression that ensured you never stayed with the same item for more than a few levels. Borderlands had weapon plateaus that stretched for sometimes 10 or more levels.

Sniper rifles are undoubtedly the weakest weapons in the game, next to rocket launchers. Snipers are ironically best with a revolver. A high-end masher will obliterate anything. SMGs are the best weapons overall, especially on a siren where her fire rate goes absolutely through the roof.

Even with my level 69 sniper with a "Pele Demands a Sacrifice" sniper rifle, I find them to be somewhat underpowered. At least compared to my 69% accuracy 12x220 shotgun.

Shotguns are good for about the 20 minutes it takes you to find a sniper rifle with a decent mod Spammable weapon with decent clips, elemental mods AND damage mods vs Shotgun is just no contest. You can walk around no-scoping everything as any character too thanks to the games bizarre weapon skill system.

I'm surprised, I found the much vaunted million guns stuff to be one of the weakest parts of the game. Weapon balance was terrible and the majority of weapon mods were undesirable. Shotguns and explosives were almost worthless compared to equal level items which really hurt variety too. It was good in the sense that there was a lot of stuff to collect but bad in that the inventory functionality wasn't very accommodating and there was too much garbage.
