Out of the Blue

Happy SysAdmin Day! If you are a system administrator, make sure someone takes you to lunch today. I know I'm going to try to leverage this since I'm the admin here in the BlueTower, which involves keeping MrsBlue online, as well as myself and this site, so I think I can drag some props out of this.

Pah! It's 5500 miles away from me, and I am the admin.
Bah! Why isn't it not in your place or near by?
Because nowadays it doesn't matter where a server is hosted as long as it's hosted good enough. And that's all you need to know.
So what happens when there is a serious problem like a hardware issue? Don't you have to fix that?

That was a horrible tragedy, but now it's just disgusting with all of the lawsuits flying back and forth between the families. I can't imagine how I'd feel if I lost three kids (or if I had kids), but what do these people hoe to accomplish with these lawsuits?

I read the womans article on some website a couple of weeks ago and it was quite touching. After going through that, then being sued because the car in the accident was your husbands is absolutely rediculous.

I usually have a chuckle when I read about the round'about lawsuits that the litigious Americans get themselves into, but this is just all kinds of wrong.

You might, but you would be wrong. (assuming you were being in any way serious, which I'm not sure you were)

Sigh

I don't really need to explain whether or not I was being serious, do I?

Welcome to reality. I used to be CMV negative; 27 years of being a public school teacher ran that off the rails ...

My wife's a teacher, and it's horrible the kind of shit she brings home on a day to day basis which then happily jumps to me.

Fucking kids, they're all just walking GERM FACTORIES!!

Don't they make blood-type neutral plasma out of all blood nowadays? So it doesn't really matter WHAT type you are anymore?

As for being CMV negative, yeah, there's few people around like that anymore. It's crazy how many people are "infected" with it. (term used very loosely. 99.9% of all people never experience any kind of symptoms or even realize they have it.)

I was CMV negative when I started donating blood, too. I don't think I was, the last time I went.

The only thing I can infer from this is that donating blood gives you CMV.
