A new "Purity First " trailer from Deus Ex: Human Revolution combines live action footage and cinematic sequences to explore the human augmentation technology that underlies much of the upcoming action/RPG prequel. The clip shows how technology can help enhance human skills and abilities, but can also be used to observe (was that Wheatley?) and control individuals as well, highlighting the contrasting utopian and dystopian elements in this vision of the future. The clip concludes with a pointer to the Sarif Industries Website with some more viral promotion, and a recursive link back to the same trailer. The embedded version follows.
Re: Deus Ex: Human Revolution Purity First Trailer
Why wouldn't augment themselves??? Shit, I'd transfer my conciousness to a complete android like Data if I could. Remember the Six Million Dollar Man? Awesome! Imagine jumping over fences with that da-na-na-na sound? I wouldn't do it, however, if you had to use some drug they control.
And I don't see how anyone can call it augmentation unethical or immoral. Firstly, because those are bullshit concepts created by man that the universe has no use for, nor cares a whit about. Second, it's just evolution in action anyway. Same as breeding certain traits into or out of animals, plants, etc. It's totally be Daft Punk, Better, Stronger, Faster!
