I find it almost ironic because the publishers get so mad about consumers looking to services like Steam to buy things. They seem to have short memories. I remember years of PR announcements for consoles, downplaying PC offerings and outright cancelling many PC franchises. I recall them insisting on invasive DRM which continues to this day. I remember publishers snubbing digital services for years and insisting upon layers of protection and long release delays to protect their console games.

I have no sympathy for the industry when it comes to their whining about consumers only looking to a few platforms to purchase games. They didn't want any part of this until it suddenly became a billion dollar industry again now they're all johnny come lately and want to skip the part where they earn back consumer trust and have to compete on silly things like price.
