EVE Online CSM Appeased

PC Gamer reports on the summit meeting between CCP and the EVE Online Council of Stellar Management over the uproar over the leaked "Greed is Good" memo about microtransactions in the space-based MMORPG. They offer details on the various specific issues discussed, and the CSM seems satisfied on all fronts. Here is their statement about microtransactions: "Game-affecting Virtual Goods: We are convinced that CCP has no plans to introduce any game-affecting virtual goods, only pure vanity items such as clothing and ship skins. We have been repeatedly assured that there are no plans for ‘gold ammo’, ships which have different statistics from existing common hulls, or any other feared ‘game destroying’ virtual goods or services. We have expressed our deep concern about potential grey areas that the introduction of virtual goods permits, and CCP has made a commitment to discuss any proposals that might fall into these grey areas in detail with CSM at the earliest possible stage."

I can't say how many games have come out with a font size problem and never fixed it. What is so hard about a user-sizeable font with a UI that stretches to fit? These are basic problems that should have been solved 20 years ago...

I love spaceship porn, but I've tried to get into EVE time and again and it just isn't sticking. Any other space MMOs out there that are more skill based?

Here's hoping they sell enough of those vanity items. No way they can backtrack now. Have my doubts personaly, comments from the entrenched hardcore suggest they're not botherd with vanity, and the vocal mob over the last week largely laud the fact they don't pay a penny towards eve, and wouldn't be involved if they had to. Lets hope there's enough of those carebears eve welcomes so warmly are prepared to lap the stuff up. For me the incarnica avatar enviroment they introduced to attract the casual crowd still has a million miles to go.
