Modern Warfare 3 Interview

An interview on AusGamers.com with Glen Schofield is available in both video form and as a text transcript, offering an E3 discussion of Modern Warfare 3, the next installment in the Call of Duty series of military shooters. On the topic of competing with Battlefield 3, he describes how their engine will give them a competitive advantage on consoles, but he does not allow himself to be pinned down on PC features like dedicated server support, saying they "havenít even made decisions internally" about how this will be handled.

Weíre able to put so much on the screen because itís an engine and itís well-known...

This is my favorite line of the interview thus far. Where did they find this guy they interviewed? The mail room? Because it's an engine? Doesn't every FPS run on an engine of some sort? Because it's well known? How does the notoriety of the engine have anything to do with how many things you can fit on screen at once?

It's funny how his entire defense against BF3 revolves around 60 FPS. He fails to mention that the past four CoDs ran at like 1024x768 with 0 AA or AF. I saw the Xbox version of MW2 and BO running on an HDTV and it looked terrible. Incredibly blurry and tons of aliasing.
