Damnit, Jaguar. I've lost a few hours to the demo for Space Pirates and Zombies, and it's still in Beta. That one could end up swallowing a lot of my time; it reminds me in ways of Space Rangers 2.
Oh man, I love Space Rangers 2. I think I'm going to have to get SPAZ. It was already on my radar since I like space, and pirates and zombie stuff, and the little I'd seen about it made me interested even more.

Edit: Heres the WTF on it, turns out he got to be the narrator of the game after the alpha WTF he did on it. Here's his most recent beta WTF on it:

So...that's either really really good, or really really bad.

Because Space Rangers 2 is one of my most conflicted gaming experiences, ever.

When it was good, it was like playing a game version of Firefly...and when it was bad - well, it was pretty bad.

Oh, I understand. I had a serious love/hate relationship with that game, even going so far as to buy it multiple times (because the first time, I was unaware of....<whisper>Starforce</whisper>.

I meant the Space Rangers 2 reference in a good way, though I haven't played SPAZ enough to tell just how much depth it has.

Just got my Nightmare Pickaxe. Since I've bought the game the devs have pushed a new release which added new features. The Guide is much, much more useful now.

Any idea if the new update changed starting equipment? I only played for a little bit last night, but I noticed that I started with a copper sword...but in a few of the tutorials the narrator started without a sword, and needed to craft a wooden one.

Edit: I finally un-lazy'd myself, and yes...the player starts with a copper short sword after patch 1.0.5:

Not really sure why you're restricting this to indie games, that's pretty much everyone with any game. I get let down a lot when I stray outside of my interests in AAA gaming too. The difference with indie games is that I am only out $15 instead of $50.

This isn't related to Steam but Amazon is selling Alice: Madness Returns for $30, which I think is a good deal if you enjoy platformers.

My only gripe with Terraria would be the lack of support setting up a multiplayer game. At home I had to setup port forwarding to host a game. I'm a techie guy, wasn't too bad setting this (been ages since I've had to do so though). However my not so techie friends would not be able to figure this out which sucks.

5 machine activation limit

Thanks Kajetan. 5 machine limit, eh. It looks like a once through and done anyways.

Good fun so far, though.

Yeah...it's a pretty fun game though. And mind-reading is cool.

Talk to the gossips in the village for some lol-moments.

The problem with bestselling games lists is they can't have f2p games on them. I know, I know, not really an issue, but I was looking for a good excuse to talk about how fun Spiral Knights is. Simple to play, but with some more complex tactical options. And the co-op is done right, as rather than fighting over drops, they are shared among everyone (ie, if someone picks up a coin, everyone gets it).

I'm not saying that to troll, just simply speaking from experience. :\

It's certainly true for many of them, but not for all - at least for me.
I have about 40 hours on Terraria and dozens of hours on Minecraft.
Unfortunately I only played 15 hours of Mount & Blade but only because I don't really have time to play games right now and I still haven't touched Warband and With Fire and Sword... and then there's also Natural Selection 2. I barely touched the Alpha because it was unplayable and my video card was too old, now it's running much better and it's actually possible to play it!
Go Indie Games, go!
