PC's are already well beyond console capabilities. In 4 more years, it will be ridiculous. Looks like gaming will shift back to the PC.

I wouldn't bet on it. Console graphics are at the point where the average game buying public is well satisfied. Only the hardcore will care about PC superiority in a few years.

Not when we start seeing big conventions showing off PC first games that look, sound, feel and play worlds better than their console counter parts. Considering this is already happening with this years crop of PC first titles, I really don't think only the hardcore will start buying PC's to experience the significantly more advanced games that will be hitting. Especially when you consider you can build a very solid gaming machine for around $600. Thats the same price the current gen of consoles were when they first hit.

Frankly I think that is why the console makers keep cutting their console prices, because they know that at this moment they cant compete with the PC on titles that are created for the PC first at their old price points. The PC always has significant gains in the gaming market during the last year or two of a consoles life cycle. During the final year of the Xbox the PC was king. This will start happening again I think, but sooner than last time simply because this generation of consoles has a significantly longer life cycle.
