Ok, you're right, what I said was fairly ambiguous, and poorly worded. My
intention was on the latter half of that statement, the part about the frequency of their sales.
In the short term, in the longer term they want to keep game prices as high as possible for as long as possible. Given how DVD sales seem to be faring lately I'm not sure this is a good precedent. There is no incentive when you have no competition. I see too many conflicts of interest in publishers also becoming storefronts unfortunately.
Well, yes and no, but I already addressed the competition aspect before.
In principle I agree that I don't really want EA to make all of their games exclusive to Origin. But in the same vein, they haven't actually said they are going to do that. So far we have one game that will be exclusive, and that's SWTOR. If we start seeing more, then I'll become worried at that point, but pre-worrying about something that we don't know will happen seems pointless.
