Out of the Blue

Well, it's not summer yet, but the forecast calls for mid-90s today, and near 100 tomorrow. Makes me fear for what August will bring.

One of them moves his arms to align with the stripes on the wall. I guess that is as close to "mimicking a picture" as it comes in the article, I was expecting them to to mimic pictures... like of Mickey Mouse of something.

I went back and found the "Next" button after disabling Noscript. I see what you mean, lining up his arms with stripes on the wall is a stretch to say he is "mimicing pictures".

Thanks for "pointing" that out.

It's going to be 98 here tomorrow. I was going to go to the observatory tonight, but threat of thunderstorms made me decide not to. It looks like last weekend was THE good weekend of the season. Transparency well above normal and 2 solid clear nights. I wish I hadn't wasted Monday now. Ah well, unsettled for the next several days, then its Full Moon again. At least I got in some good viewing and saw the supernova in the Whirlpool Galaxy. Some good imaging too, got this shot of the Milky Way: http://www.flickr.com/photos/30623046@N08/5802193149/in/photostream/lightbox/

Ah, yes. Looks like they've been hanging with the gawker folks. Because if it looks great on a tablet, it must looks great everywhere else.

I thought the same thing... well not at first, at first I thought my browser was messed up. After several refreshes and some investigation I found out that was sadly not the case.

RIP, Netflix

people say this alot, as if the planet will somehow not recover

the planet can do fine without us.. we are fucking up our *environment*.. in other words, shitting in our house

the planet could care less, its got many billions of years of continuing evolution to play with ... oxygen based life could just be a fluke it needs to correct

The rest were trying to blend in with the environment. Most of them just showed they're resourceful but one or two were impressive.

Yeh, from Jersey so in the same boat as Blue.

For those in the South-West US that think we're whining, recall that we have to take humidity into account (though nothing Florida-level). That's the only thing I like about CA, dry Heat for the win. (Not that I think the average Blues reader would mock us).

I asked the family to make sure they take precautions for the dog since he's home alone and the A/C may/may-not be doing anything during the day by default yet.

ugh. We had 100+ the past 2 days. I am happy to see it back to normal and 75 as a high today. Going to actually go down to the 60s over the next few. Give me time to get this damn central air unit fixed.
